It's that time of year again! The time for family, friends, and, of course, food. Lots and lots of food. And what would Thanksgiving be without a turkey? This year, why not mix things up and cook your turkey with cannabis-infused butter? Here's how.
Cannabis-infused butter, or "cannabutter," is a key ingredient in all sorts of cannabis-infused dishes. It's simple to make and can be used in everything from cookies to main courses. To make cannabutter, you'll need:
1 pound of butter
1 cup of water
1 ounce of Thca cannabis flower or 1 gram of concentrate
The first step is to decarboxylate your cannabis. This is a process that activates the THC in the plant so that it will be psychoactive when ingested. To decarboxylate your cannabis, preheat your oven to 245 degrees Fahrenheit. Spread your cannabis on a baking sheet and bake for 40-60 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once your cannabis is done decarboxylating, it should be dark brown or brownish-green in color and have a slightly toasted aroma.
Now it's time to make the cannabutter! Start by melting the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add the water and stir gently to combine. Add the decarboxylated cannabis and continue stirring gently until everything is combined. Turn up the heat to medium-low and simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to let the mixture boil.
Once the butter has finished cooking, strain it through a cheesecloth or coffee filter into a bowl or container. Let it cool completely before using. Your cannabutter is now ready to use in all sorts of recipes! Try it in these cheesy mashed potatoes or this pumpkin pie for a guaranteed good time.
Cannabis-infused butter is a great way to add a little extra something something to your Thanksgiving feast this year. By following these simple steps, you can infuse your Butterball with all the good vibes (and THC) that marijuana has to offer! So get creative in the kitchen, experiment with recipes, and most importantly - enjoy your holiday meal!
